Getting to Ohorongo
Game Reserve by Road

From Windhoek to
Camp
- Drive from Windhoek to Otjiwarongo on the B1 main road.
- Continue on the C38 road to Outjo.
- Drive from the town of Outjo towards Khorixas, for 123 km on the C39 tarmac road.
- Turn right onto the C35 gravel road towards Kamanjab, follow for 42 km to the turn-off on the ride to Ohorongo Safaris. Along this route, you pass the village of Fransfontein.
- Look out for the Ohorongo Safaris road sign.
- After turning off from the C35, follow our “Ohorongo” road signs along the way until you reach the entrance gate after 1,5 km.
- A friendly Ohorongo Safaris team member will meet you at the entrance gate.
- Roads are only accessible with a 4×4 or SUV
- Gates are locked at sunset, unless by prior arrangement.
Total distance: 380 km
Lodge
- Drive from Windhoek to Otjiwarongo on the B1 main road.
- Continue on the C38 road to Outjo.
- Drive from the town of Outjo towards Kamanjab for 90 km on the C40 tarmac road.
- Passing the small village and school of Otjikondo, it is just another 13 km on the C40 before you reach the turn-off to Ohorongo Safaris on the left.
- Turn onto the farm road no. F2659.
- Follow the main farm road/track for 24 km to Ohorongo Safaris Lodge.
- Look out for our “Ohorongo” road signs along the way.
- Roads are only accessible with a 4×4 or SUV
- Gates are locked at sunset, unless by prior arrangement.
Total distance: 420 km
From Swakopmund to
Camp
- Drive from Swakopmund on the C34 to Hentiesbay, continue on the C35 to Uis and Khorixas.
- From Khorixas, continue on the C35 from the road crossing C39/C35 on the gravel road C35 towards Kamanjab for 42 km.
- Along this route you’ll pass the village of Fransfontein.
- Look out for the Ohorongo Safaris road sign.
- After turning off from the C35, follow our road signs “Ohorongo” along the way until you reach the entrance gate after 1.5km.
- Our friendly Ohorongo Safaris team member will meet you at the entrance gate.

Camp
- Drive from Kamanjab on the C35 gravel road toward Khorixas for 60 km.
- Look out for the Ohorongo Safaris road sign.
- After turning off from the C35, follow our road signs “Ohorongo” until you reach the entrance gate after 1,5km.
- Our friendly Ohorongo Safaris team member will meet you at the entrance gate.
- Roads are only accessible with a 4×4 or SUV
- Gates are locked at sunset, unless by prior arrangement.
Total distance 80km
Lodge
- Drive from Kamanjab on the C40 road toward Outjo for 60 km.
- Turn off right at the Ohorongo Safaris road sign onto the farm road no. F2659.
- Follow this main farm road for 24km to Ohorongo Safaris Lodge.
- Look out for our road signs indicating “Ohorongo”, along the way.
- Roads are only accessible with a 4×4 or SUV
- Gates are locked at sunset, unless by prior arrangement.

Road Transfer
If you need a road transfer from Windhoek or the Hosea Kutako International Airport, please send us an email to request an updated quotation from us.
An Ohorongo Safaris team member will pick you up from other destinations within Namibia and transfer you to Ohorongo Safaris.
Air Charter
Ohorongo Game Reserve has two airfields for charter flights. The most suitable airfield will depend on whether you are staying at the lodge or camp, and the type/size of aircraft.
Please request this option and we‘ll arrange everything for you.
It‘s a 1 hour and 40 minute flight directly from Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport.
Please note that prior permission must be obtained to use our airstrips. Now low flyovers are allowed. No flights without a flight plan and ETA.
