What a wonderful place!
We stayed at Ohorongo for 3 nights and everything about it was just great: the lodges are clean. comfortable and stylish, and the food is delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful and the pool and fire pit create wonderful ambience. We went on 4 game drives, one of which included some rhino tracking. These drives were the highlight of our stay and I can't recommend Daniel (our guide) highly enough. He is helpful, generous and superbly well-informed - we learnt so much from him. Absolute Recommendation!
We would definitely visit the Ohorongo Safari Lodge again. The rooms are lovingly decorated, everything was super clean and the staff were all helpful and very friendly. Above all, we really liked the tour and the great conversations with Thorsten and we were able to learn and learn a lot about Namibia, its inhabitants and the animals. weekend getaway at Ohorongo Safari
Great experience at Ohorongo Safari lodge, the staff Daniel and team didn't leave a stone unturned to make it the guests a warm welcome and excellent service during the stay, the rooms i rate "very good" as i think in summer time they may require aircon as it can get very hot, however i also understand the lodge is fully of grid on solar that aircons are a big impact on the solar system. absolutely a + to visit and experience the true beauty of Namibia. the road towards the lodge is already an adventure on it's own we say so much game just amazing.

Best experience in Namibia
Words fail to describe this magical place! This small, authentic lodge totally took our hearts! Never have we experienced such service! Everything was thought of. Raffinement down to the smallest detail. For instance, a big cake was baked for our family for teatime, hot water bottles were brought to our room for bedtime. Nothing was too much for the so sweet staff. Daniel was our ranger. He accompanied us for 3 safaris! He made every effort to spot as many animals as possible! The beautiful rooms were crisp clean and beautifully decorated. All 5 rooms are in the garden overlooking the water reservoirs for the animals! The food was fantastically delicious. Unforgettable stay
During our stay we were the only guests. We were welcomed by Daniel and Werner who took care of us the whole time together with their team. It is a type of personal service you get nowhere else: kind, knowledgeable and non-intrusive, the place becomes your home. The day starts with breakfast outside next to the pool, with the fire already on in front of the waterhole, awakening with the animals. Then you drive out on the reserve in the hands of Daniel, making it each time a discovery. Back home, you enjoy the bar for when to decide to go to the dinner table, again in a superb private setting, great three course meal. The evening ends, sitting around the open fire again in front of the waterhole, watching the animals, telling stories. Your rooms have then been set up with warm water bottles in the beds. The whole setting breaths traditional comfort, full of interesting details and artifacts. For us the experience was second to none. More than a wonderful stay and Highly recommend the Ohorongo experience!
An experience which was one certainly one of kind and more than wonderful! A hidden jewel in Damaraland. Not only the place is appeasing and very well managed and well maintained, but the personnel and service was just amazing! At the time of our stay we were the only family staying and the staff was just as professional as it can be. The guided tours were very interesting and made us feel like 3 days were not enough. The guides had plenty of facts to tell us about the place, the fauna/flora but also we shared a lot about our respective culture during the safaris and around the fireplace late in the evening. A wonderful human experience in addition to the rest. My recommendation would definitely be to go experience the Ohorongo experience for at least 2 nights! Moreover, all informations about the place, how to access there are very well described on the website, no surprises, just even better in person! Amazing nature, Incredible people
Staying at Ohorongo Safari Lodges was our best choice in Namibia. Our family trip concerned 12 people from the grandparents ( 80 year old ) to a young a baby ( 1 year old ) and several kids. Ohorongo was able to satisfy and delight us all. Imagine waking up to the wild life : a quick, hot shower and a wake me up breakfast before heading out to watch the rising sun awaken this iconic reserve into a gold and purple kaleidoscope. Watching the rays of the sun pierce through the morning sight : this is another beautiful day on safari and, in more ways than one : 1) The lodge The luxury suites combine an authentic bush experience with all the contemporary amenities and are nothing but comfortable. The eco friendly lodge runs on green energy, and we will have all we need and more ( hairdryers, etc…). the epic view from the fireplace and the terrasse allows to watch giraffes, zebras, oryxs, springboks coming to drink in front of you . We were amazed by the quality of the cuisine/cooking. Really exceptional compared to other luxury lodges. And it matters to French people 😊 2) Epic wildlife encounters The Ohorongo property is huge ( more than 40000 hectares ), and we feld to be totally alone in the Nature which is uncomparable to other safari places. The children and the adults were able to enjoy spectacular wildlife : zebras, giraffes, elands, kudus, roans, sables, oryxs, baboons, squirrels, wild cats, red rock rabbit, hare, fox, black backed jackals, mongooses, black wildebeests, blue wildebeests, springboks, damara dik diks, steenbcks, bustards,etc…We saw tracks of the rhinos and the leopards too. Each day of the week we saw new species. 3) Incredible people Ohorongo is a celebration of the best of Namibia’s people – warm hospitality, agility, resilience and tenacity. Thorsten, his guides and his team are incredibly passionate custodians of the natural world. Each and every person of the staff has a beautiful story. The site also has secrets from the past : prehistorical carvings from the bush men, stone wells from the 19th century European pioneers, and more. Somptueux

Höhepunkt unserer Namibia-Reise
Unser Aufenthalt in der Ohorongo Safaris Lodge war ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Die Zimmer, die Lage, der Service, das Essen waren einfach sehr sehr gut. Alles übertroffen haben aber die Gamedrives und die Abende am Lagerfeuer. Der Tour Guide Daniel ist eine excellente Quelle für Informationen über Tiere. Land und Leute. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank dafür!
