Luxury Tented Camp

TENTED CAMP

Designed and created to get you as close to nature as you can get, the Ohorongo Safaris Tented Camp is in the reserve’s red-soiled western reaches. It is intimate and tranquil – with a touch of class.

The wooden decks and thatched roofs reflect its authentic Namibian spirit and the sustainable construction materials blend gracefully with the landscape’s granite monoliths. The lines between wilderness and comfort are blurred – we meld them effortlessly.

THE TENTS

Your private terrace is the perfect place to pause and blend into the background as a spectator of the passing wildlife. Shower in the tent’s en suite or under the stars, retire for the night on a pillowy bed, and call on room service to cater to your every need.

A DAY AT THE CAMP

As your camp leader welcomes you, you’ll soon realise that camp life revolves around the kitchen. You will certainly need the sustenance that our fine cuisine offers to prepare you for the surprises and delights that await when you venture out for the day.

So, as captivating as the views from your private quarters may be, we invite you to step out – and beyond – because there’s more. Follow the winding staircase to the top of the granite outcrop. Recline under the thatch shade with a sumptuous, hearty breakfast as you cast your gaze at the panoramic views of the mountains and herds of game on the vast plains beneath. At Ohorongo, you set the agenda for the day’s activities, whether it’s scrambling up boulders, trekking down gorges, searching for Bushmen’s carvings, or spotting game. Explore by vehicle or on foot. We always recommend the latter for a true African experience.

When night falls, the cosy dining area by the crackling fire will be waiting for you in a hollow in the natural rock formation. And so, the adventure continues with delicious, Namibian fare as we dine together and review the day’s sightings.
